EGI's roots go back to 2008, when our founder started the firm in Hammond, Indiana as a technology consulting practice serving municipal clients. In 2021, the company was formally reincorporated under its current name, Ecomis Group Inc. (EGI) — Engineering Commercial & Information Systems — reflecting a sharper focus on water utility technology, security, and governance.
EGI works from inside water utility operations, not from a generic technology practice repurposed for water. That shows up in how we scope engagements: every recommendation ties to a specific standard, protocol, or measured baseline — not a general best practice.
